OMG. Humidity. If this past weekend could be summed up in one word, I think that word would have to be ‘moist’.
There was at least one point during the day where I could not play my violin. It was literally tacky. I did not get any photos because I was afraid to take out any electronics for fear of their little circuty lives being destroyed, forever. So the only photo from this weekend was one my stepmom Jamie took:
It then rained so hard, there was a flood.
If I were Siskel and Ebert, I would give the weather a decidedly fierce two thumbs down.
However, something magical happened during our Dreg-A-Long at 5 on Sunday. Everyone was rained in; us, you, the accordion (it was bad, man), and yet we had probably one of the best sets in recent memory. We pulled songs out of thin air, like Chad’s rendition of Alice Cooper’s ‘Take it Like a Woman’, we played old favorites like ‘Parting Glass’, and surprised folks with our ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ and ‘With or Without You’ mash-up. I’m pretty proud of our little band.
Thank you to everyone who stayed in the pub and made a crummy situation amazing. Stop by the festival’s Mac’s Pub this coming weekend and seek out some of that magic for yourself! <3
That Dreg-a-long on Sunday was probably one of my favorite Dregs moments.
Really, the rain wasn’t that bad. In fact, for those of us not made of sugar, it was a nice change from the sweltering nonsense that was Saturday.
Well, I AM made of sugar. But I’m YOUR sugar woman, Marcus. You lucky man, you.
The Dreg-a-long did rock on Sunday. Anyone that missed it missed a wonderful fun and very interesting time! Love you all!
